Default Anyone Married to a Hunter? Camo issue

I am getting frustrated with my husband's camouflage collection. He doesn't get rid of the stuff that's too small and now it's invading my closet. Usually, you hear of women doing that to their husband, but my husband has twelve pair of boots for hunting and over thirty assorted pieces of camo clothing. How do I gently tell him that his camo has got to go? Is there a retirement home for camo?

My husband used to go hunting, and he still has a collection of guns that he might use some time again. No collection of camo though (thank God). I suppose there is no way around it: you have to ask him what fits and what doesn't, and suggest to get rid of things he will no longer use. Perhaps they can be sold instead of being thrown out - it might make him feel a little better about it.

I think you should just be upfront and honest. Tell him that before he buys any more clothing (camouflage or not) that he has to get rid of the camouflage that doesn't fit. Just give it away to Good Will or The Salvation Army.

maybe he needs all those different types of camo.

You know all camo is not the same, the camo for
duck hunting might be vastly different than the one
used for lion hunting, Also the camo will be different
for different seasons. for example the winter cam will
be white to blend in with the snow, the spring one
might be more greener and the fall one might
have orange and yellow to match the fall colors.

So, you should understand your husbands needs and
adjust and get rid of some of your own clothes and
buy him more camo for Christmas.

lgalatea said that some of the stuff no longer fits Farce, so I don't think it is just the matter of needing different camo for different types of hunting. I would say over 30 pieces is a bit too much, especially if it is invading her closet. That's something I wouldn't tolerate.

Well, if all else fails, you could get back at him by buying a bunch of shoes or dresses and let it invade his closet. He'll see how much you have, then you point out all the camouflage that he has, and you can both trim each other's closet together.

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking of asking him for the camo to make a quilt with. He can use it to keep warm in his tree stand. LOL
