Does anyone feel it is appropriate to give your wife on her 30th wedding anniversity a vibrator, even though you know she doesn't like them, just because you couldn't think of anything else? And is she out of line for being hurt and upset over it?

No, I don't find that appropriate at all. I think if a husband did that, he's trying to give himself the anniversary gift and not thinking of her... very crass in my personal opinion.

My answer is no - not appropriate, and the wife is not out of line to be hurt. If she was someone who liked "sex toys," and the husband knew it, that would be a different story. But if he knows she is not into this stuff, it is very unsensitive on his part, I would say borderline rude / insulting.

Thanks both of you for your honesty, I was really beginning to wonder if I was out of line for being SO very upset about it. Apparently hubby's thinks I am because he is not speaking to me now over this, even though I NEVER said anything negitive to him about it, just started crying.
