My mom told me that she heard a minister say that Christians shouldn't practice yoga because all the positions that you sit in are a form of worship for the various Hindu gods and goddesses. Has anyone heard anything like this?

I can't agree with the so radical attitude to Yoga expressed by this minister. I think that we should not forget that some representatives of the different religious ideologies are waging constant wars with the opponents. I also think that it would be much better for them to help the poor people than to fight with opponents.

You know when Moses (alias Charleton Heston) came down the mountain he dropped one of the
stone tablets and commandments 11-15 were lost. Actually commandment
number 11 says "Thou shalt not practice Yoga"

I don't really have a problem with yoga, but if that really is a way to worship gods and goddesses from other religions, I couldn't take part in it because that's like idolatry.

I don't think Yoga is a form of worship to a god or goddess unless you are actually doing it for that purpose. It's just stretching and relaxing. Just like if you go to church. That doesn't mean that your a Christian or worshiping God, it just means that you went to church.

I suppose that's one way to look at it, but what about a pose that involved saluting the sun? Is there any chanting involved during yoga?

Eh there's a lost commandment like don't practice yoga? That's pretty weird but I don't mind doing it or not doing it at all.
