I'm interested in learning this but from where I came from, there are no place that teaches Yoga, is it advisable to learn this on my own?

Actually it is not advisable to self-teach yoga by reading books or watching videos. You should get a competent yoga instructor teaching you at least in the early times you learn yoga. Where do you live btw? If you live in India, there should be easy to find a yoga studio nearby your place.

It is very difficult to do Yoga without an instructor. Watching videos are not enough. There are breathing patterns that needs guidance from a trained instructor. If you are really interested in learning Yoga, distance is not a hindrance to do it. The distance is just a part of doing it.

The only way i tried doing yoga is through videos. And it is hard to get the poses right. Some of the poses don't really allow you to look at the TV screen without messing up the pose. And the breathing, you have to really concentrate. If I could get an instructor to help me, I think I would love doing Yoga.

Philippines....I have very little knowledge about your country. But I hear that at least in Manila and Davao there are yoga centers belonging to a yoga community named Ananda Marga.

Initially I learned Yoga on my own... I now take classes, and I don't find much of a difference... at least with the videos you can pause if you need to work on a pose.. a classroom will not pause for you.

I didn't have the money to take classes when I first started, so I bought a beginners dvd and it was great.
