Its quite a simple and easy recipe, and your right beatrix_kiddo eggs are the primary ingredient. This is how I have made it previously, but you will probably find many different ways of making mayonnaise, either by the little changes of ingredients or order of preparing it. To make may Mayonnaise you need to following ingredients: 2 eggs 1.5 tbsp mustard 1 tbsp of vegetable oil 1 tbsp vinegar 2 tbsp sugar 1 tsp pepper 1 tbsp salt You need to make sure all ingredients are at room temperature. Mix together the eggs and mustard oil and salt, keep mixing these ingredients for about 1 minute. Now add in the vinegar and begin to mixing for another half a minute. The mixture will begin to thicken and then add in the oil quickly but in a stead thin stream. Add in pepper and mix well. Refrigerate and serve accordingly. |

Its true that there are so many companies who make mayo, and they do taste good so I know what you mean. But I suppose some like making products themselves which means its homemade and many people prefer that. The reason why I made mayo at home, was because I need to make a coleslow salad and had no mayo and it was too late to go out. So thought why not give it a try........to my amazement it turned out quite good. |

Mayo isnt' that expensive. I would rather not take the time to make it and just go and buy it from the store.

I like homemade because it tastes better and does not have preservatives! On the rare occasion I need mayo, I usually make it myself. Though usually I use labaneh in most things that call for Mayo or sour cream.

I've always wanted to try making my own mayo, but I have never come across a clear and easy recipe as the one you've suggested. And it is true, most of us are spoiled with all the variety / brands or mayo available in stores... However, it tends to be a little thick, I wonder whether homemade is thinner in consistency?

And I think it comes in handy when wanting to make homemade potato salad or coleslaw, all fresh and good to eat! |

| Same here - I don't doubt that anything that is homemade tastes much better than the commercial ones, but there are just some things that I rather just go out and buy then spending a lot of time making.
