Default Flap Jacks

these are a southern staple.
1 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 eggoptional

water

mix all ingredients together. add water to make a medium thick batter. Use a hot skillet with a bit of butter or melted shortening. Place ladle full of batter in sizzling oil. Turn when top gets bubbles and edges begin to brown. After turning cake will rise. Press gently to make sure its cooked all the way and serve with butter and maple syrup.
