Default Working at home still takes time away from the kids

I run a daycare in my home. Some people consider me being lucky because I don't actually work away from home. I think that times I am very lucky, but other times I wish I did stay in the workforce. Now that my kids are older, I am working during their school vacations. I am working until 5 and they have sporting events at 4. I can't just take time off to go to the doctor or call in for a sick day.
What are the frustrations of moms working out of the home?

Well I'm not that sure but mom has a convinient store connected to their home. Well her only frustrations is when my lil brothers are at the store playing. Good thing they don't eat everything on the store I guess my mom disciplined my siblings well. If it was me as a kid I would probably sneak up and get some candies on the store lolz.

Yes, running your own business has its advantages and disadvantages. When the business is small, you can't take a day off or have someone else run it as you go on vacation. Running daycare is one such example, you can't easily adjust your work to match your kids' events, etc.

I am not a mom (yet), but I work from home as a freelancer. It should be easier for me since I can usually choose my work hours.

Yeah but sometimes things changes when kids are present. You'll just have to make them busy to concentrate on work well.

When my parents were running a business, they often included us in the business. That way, they had some extra help, and we got to earn a little money. Maybe you can find a way to bring them in on the business.

I haven't dealt with it personally, but I've heard the same complaints. Many women who work from home feel very overwhelmed because they are constantly stuck at home and forget to have alone time.

Even though I don't have kids, I can still relate to the fact that working at home takes time away from the important things. I had to put a number of projects on hold because I had to help provide for my family.

That's what my parents did to me when mom still works at home. I liked working with my family then get paid for it and I was just a high school student that time so it really was fun.

It's an amazingly empowering feeling. You get a taste of making your own money, and that sticks with you. You suddenly want to be your own boss and make your own money.

To make sure that you still have time for your family, you have to set clear boundaries to keep your work and family life separate. Pick a time to work, and when it's over, you have to be strict about it and follow that schedule.
