Smile Mommy, I will miss you!

I usually leave home at around 5 in the morning so I won't be late for work. One morning, my 4year old son woke up very early morning also, and was crying. He was telling me not to go to work for that day. I told him, that I need to work so we can have money to buy things that we need. he kept on crying, and I ask him why he is crying, and then suddenly he told me "mommy, I will miss you"
oh this touch my heart. I just assured him I will be going home early. after several minutes of talking, he was satisfied.

is a similar situation happened to you? how do you deal with that? it's just so sweet to hear this words from you child, isn't ?

That sounds so sweet...my daughters never wanted me to work. They are 8 and 10 now but when they were younger I used to tell them exactly the same thing. They understand your reasons for leaving regardless of how young they are but they just need to be re-assured that you will always come back to them. It used to break my heart to leave them early in the morning too - and this is something I never got used to. Your child will miss you no matter how long you go for but as long as he knows you'll be back, he'll be fine

I'm not a mom, but I have a dog, she is my baby.
I think that the feelings are similar.
Whenever I leave home, half of my heart stays with my dog. I get so broken-hearted, but I can't help it.
I wish we could take our babies to work.

Awww!! That's soooo sad!! I don't have children, but my little brother was really upset, because I moved out of my mother's house when I was 18 and he didn't have a warning. He's really hurt by it and he's always thinking he did something wrong. I had a long talk with him when I visited recently (which, turned out to be a horrible visit.. I will never go back again. My mom was the same ol' same ol', drunk and having random guys over) and I let him know that I was mad at mommy because she wasn't very nice to me, and that I loved him very much. It's sooo cute how kids really do understand and they take what you say to heart. He's been better since. What a cute lil' guy!!!

When I was a working mom, I would always take one day and make it a special time for my son and I to spend together. We would go to the park, or make cookies.....just something that we could do together to make up for when I was not home. He always looked forward to mommy and me days.

If I were in your situation, it would really tore my heart to leave him. Your kid is so sweet and as a mother, I would be very happy if my children would turn out to be like him. It's hard to work and become a mom at the same time. I know your child would understand you. Are you planning to stop working?
