Default Goals

Do you set goals? So far, I’ve been pretty bad at goals and sticking to a diet. I think my big problem is that I have never really tried to lose weight before. I mean I was always skinny growing up, and I just put on about 20 pounds over the last 10 years. I need to lose it. I have never really tried to diet so I’m not sure that I know what I’m doing. So I decided to set goals.

I’m going on vacation in August (14th-22nd) to Georgia. A beach house for a week. We will basically be living in our swimsuits. That is my reason to get on the ball and accomplish this. My goal is to eat healthy and get more exercise until then and lose some weight. I’m going for 10 pounds. Might be high, I don’t know. At least this time I have a goal in mind and a time period.

Last night we went out for a long walk. Ended up walking this awful huge hill, thankfully it was on the way instead of the way home. We got to walk down on the way home. Life is busy right now with sports and end of year fun at school. Wish me luck that I can reach my goal! Share your goals!

I use to set goals all the time and alot I would achieve, in recent years I have gotten lazy and alway putting things on the long finger saying I'll do it later but I have made a conscious decision now to make a list and complete it, even it it takes a few years to do so, it will give me something to look forward to also. I feel that if you put your mind to something you can achieve anything you want.

I NEVER set weight loss goals because you can't control how your body reacts. Some people lose weight very slowly. I do set goals however for my activity level.. Right now I have a goal to climb a certain mountain, so I go walking up hills every day and hiking a few days a week to prepare for it.. So my goal is in the activity, not the changes that may or may not happen to my body!

That is a good thought too Sweetz... although now that I have set a goal to be more healthy and exercise more, I find myself thinking more about what I'm putting in my mouth.

I think this goal will be something that I can stick too.

A friend and I made a pact to lose 20 pounds in 3 months.
We made it.

He lost 18 and I lost 2 pounds.

That's great news Kris, I'm sure you will be successful. And even if you don't reach the "ideal weight" you want, you'll still reap the benefits of a healthier lifestyle!
