It has been claimed that having a strict diet of not having any more intakes of solid foods after six pm woudl help reduce weight gained over time. Have you any experience on this type of diet?

I have never heard of this before. What if you work nights? And you are up at night and not in the daytime? I'm guessing it should be no major foods so many hours prior to sleeping. I don't buy into it though. |

I try not to have big meals several hours before I go to bed. Since I usually stay up late, I don't follow the "after 6" rule, it is usually closer to "after 9" in my case. I might have an apple or a glass of juice after that time, but no solids. I think it helps to stay in shape.

Yes, the after 6pm rule is for those who have regular hours. You would need to adjust it to suit your schedule, but the principle is not to have undigested food in your stomach before when you go to sleep. Otherwise that would turn to fat, especially carbohydrates. Y0u want to be able to burn off the sugars and carbohydrates. I've tried this regimen severatimes and I believe it really does help to keep off the weight. And I know others who swear by it as a weight maintenance or even weight loss strategy. |

That 6pm habit doesn't suit me at all. I'm not eating at the right time so I'm adjusting my eating clock. Eating less for dinner will also help in losing weight since our body will not be doing anything during night time.

Even if we don't intend to lose weight (just kidding ), that's the way to stay healthy. In the night we'd better not to employ our digestion too much, otherwise we will not get good sleep.
