Growing up, I thought that having a flat stomach was the best thing to have. I always assumed that it meant that you were in shape. Now I'm aware that you don't necessarily have to have a flat stomach to indicate that you're in shape, especially if you're a woman.

That's a very good point. I used to be very, very picky about my stomach, to the point where I wouldn't eat sometimes when I was hungry. I used to love how my stomach looked in the morning, because I hadn't eaten for a number of hours before bet. I used to really obsess over how much I had each day too. I would look at the nutrition information, and when I ate something, I would count that as whatever the highest percentage on the can was. It was so dumb and I'm glad I stopped. I know that I haven't been eating right or working out, but I'd rather not be perfect than be hungry all the time and really weak. I get weak very easy, so this is the better life for me

It's true but a flat stomach looks great, especially with jeans. I don't have a washboard stomach either but I enjoy a flat belly thanks to all the exercising nonetheless - so, even though it is not a sign of being in good shape, I believe it is still great for having our clothes fit properly.

That was the only reason that I wanted a flat stomach, so my clothes would fit better. When I was younger, I always felt uncomfortable because I didn't like the way my clothes fit me.

That's a really good point too. Having a flat stomach makes clothes look a lot better. For me, my stomach is pretty small, but anytime I eat anything, you can tell haha. I could literally eat a piece of toast or two and you can see the changes. I guess that's a downside of being slender lol

I guess that's something that I'm working towards in order to be healthy and to be able to have clothes that I really like and not having to choose clothes that fit me the best.

I am completely agreeing with you! I think that woman doesn't need to have absolutely flat stomach. I am sure that in this question we should not be in the conflict with the mother nature.

My bf always tells me that it's cute to have a bit of a stomach. He says it makes me look feminine. I think he's right. Guys are expected to look a lot better than girls in my opinion. But then again, women put up with a lot and don't care too much about how guys look. Guys can be picky.. I just contradicted myself lol
