I was wondering if anyone has used the little padding things for your shoes. I know they make them for the balls of your feet to make heels more comfortable. They dont seem like they would do anything. If you have used them, do they work? This will be a deciding factor in whether or not I'll be wearing heels. |

It all depends on what kind of paddin that you use in your shoes. Are you using the type of padding with the gel inside? Those are very comfortable, I hear, but I still don't think that you should wear your shoes all day. It's just not healthy.

I wear high heels quite often and even though gel pads are really comfortable, I can't walk around with them in my shoes all day. It might be different for you though. I'd suggest you get a pair and try them on with another pair of high heel shoes beforehand and see how it feels. We all have our comfort zones and nothing I say would really be accurate enough for anyone other than myself.

I think you'd be able to try out or at least sample shoe padding at a shoe store, especially if it's a really expensive shoe store where they want you to come back. See what works for and how the pad reacts to movement.

| I have used the gel inserts and they worked VERY well for me. I was working at a job that required me to stand for my entire shift. I was so surprised to find how much more comfortable my feet were even with the smallest of padding. They are definitely worth it. I'm pretty sure I used the Gellin brand.

I did not use any padding for my wedding shoes, but I had made sure that the shoes fit well, were comfortable and did not rub my feet anywhere. I had put them on beforehand and worn them for a day or so to check them out "in action," so to speak. Had I noticed any discomfort, I would have done some adjustments - or picken another pair of shoes.

How much standing and walking do you think you'll be doing? If you need to walk around a lot, maybe you should get padding. You could also bring a change of shoes and put on your heels during important times like pictures or during the actual wedding.

I would also suggest breaking your shoes in for a while before the big day to make sure they don't rub your feet when it matters most. Gel inserts do work great, but I would take a pair of flatter shoes with you too just in case.

| That's a wonderful idea. Breaking in your shoes is much, much better than wearing new ones. I always HATE the feeling of brand new shoes!
