I was just at a family gathering and my cousin told me that if I could use her dress for my wedding. She told me to call her so I could come by and see if it fit. While it's not my dream dress or a dress that I would have considered, it is very pretty. This is a wonderful thing, but I just don't know if it's right for me. I'm just confused!

The best thing I would suggest to you is go to your cousins try the dress out, if you have a good feeling about and like it when you wear it (which can make a difference than just looking at it) have it for your wedding, if not then leave it. I'm sure your cousin would be understand if you said no!

I agree with Sara. This is your wedding. Therefore, you get to decide what you should be wearing. Give it a try and if you feel that it is something that you would like to wear to your wedding, do it. Otherwise, tell your cousin that it is nice of her to offer but you would rather choose your own dress. I am sure she will agree with you as you have only one wedding and it should be special in every way.

Actually it is really weird to wear a dress used by someone close to you or a relative in a wedding because eventually you will invite same people on that special day therefore they've seen it. It might be a cause of comparison which is not good and I don't like being compared. I suggest if you have the budget for a wedding dress, you buy for your own or hire a Couturier who will make your dress.

I join Steph with this point, why because the relatives who attend your cousins wedding may attend yours also, it'll be boring. If you don't want to give up with your cousins word, just have a trial and if it fits you well and if you look better in it then order for the same dress for you too, some people may have sentiment that they should have their wedding dress specially made for them, though it may cost more as it is the special day made for them. Anyway it is your own opinion and you decide in the right way.

You should wear what you are comfortable with. It's true whenever there is choice there is a confusion. The fact is that this dress is not your dream dress but you still like it. Search for the dress of your choice. If you find a dress better than this one it's ok. otherwise you can go for your cousin's dress.
As it's your wedding and you don't have any problem of wearing your cousin's dress than it's ok.

Well, it's your big day so it's totally up to you. If you're not sure about the dress, be honest and just tell her. She should understand. Just be careful how you word it

i agree with the others, it is really weird to wear your cousins dress.I'm sure she means good but it is your big day you should be wearing a dress you saw in the shop window and just fell in love with. i say you shouldn't even try the dress just tell her you prefer to shop for your dress, go through the hole experience, I'm sure she will understand you. plus do not do something now that you might wake up one day regretting.
