Default Marriages in other countries.

Other than in India, how are the marriges celebrated in other countries? I only know about Indian marriages, is it true that it is celebrated in a very simple way with less visitors?

It all depends on what the budget is for a wedding, and whether its a wedding for close family or a wedding where you invite everyone you know.

Weddings all depend on individuals on how they want them, I dont think it has much to do with different countries, although Asian weddings are known to be grand.

every wedding can be different in different countries, cultures and people's preferences. here in the philippines, there are different types of weddings. some can be traditional or old-fashioned, some are quite modern and elegant, and some are just simple yet meaningful. it depends on the preference of the couple, the family, traditions, cultures, and also the budget.

There is not a set tradition for weddings here in Canada. It depends on how you want it to be. You can have a huge wedding with a lot of guests, or you can just elope and not have anyone. I have been to a couple of Italian weddings though and they were like both like a fairy tale - lots of food, very exquisite decorations and a lot of guests. Like I said, everyone has their preferences, but as far as I am concerned, it is quite useless to dish out a fortune just to have everyone criticize everything afterwords and not even think about the real goal of throwing a wedding, which is to share a happy occasion with the loved ones...

There are different ways how wedding is celebrated. it can be traditional or elegant or as simple as you want. It depends on the decision of the couple. as for me, we just had a simple church wedding, with only close families as the visitors.

It depends on person to person. In india many people like simple marriage so it can be done in that way also. On the other hand there are people in india who spent lakhs or crores on the marriage. Even though the rituals are same . It all depends on your financial status, your wish etc.

I think most weddings, no matter what country, share a few similar characteristics. You invite guests like family and friends to witness a sacred event. Then you eat. I went to a Nigerian wedding over ten years ago, and it wasn't much different than an American wedding. The only difference was the kind of food served.
