Default British TV Shows anyone?

Does anyone like British TV shows? Which ones?

We have a few favorites, like Keeping Up Appearances and Jeeves and Wooster. I like how smart they are - very good writing and dialogue.

I've been telling myself that I should watch more shows from outside of the United States. My brother and I watch "Spooks" (called "MI5" in the US), and I've just started watching "Wire in the Blood" over on hulu.

I have not heard about these two shows, I'll need to check them out! Are they mystery / crime? Do you like them?

"Spooks/MI5" is a little like "24," so there's crime, drama, and mystery, and "Wire in the Blood" is like the many police dramas already on American TV.

I can't stand British shows - not only the accent is very heavy, their shows also tend to be quite boring. My mother-in-law still watches Coronation Street after all these years and I don't know how she does it...

I don't know...I enjoy listening to the accents quite a bit. It's nice to hear people on TV who speak differently than I do. Everything is so Americanized lately that it's become very stale. Listening to their accents is the closest that I'll be able to get to England for a while.

I love British accents. I love any accent really.. I find it so fascinating for some reason. However, it also distracts me lol and then I don't hear a word the person is saying
