It is true that television has become the only source of entertainment for those at home. But do we really benefit from watching it. The daily saas bahu serials give us nothing but emotional, mental and physical handicap. And we become nothing but more and more addicted to the idiot box. Television strains us completely and we become more frustrated and confused. There are more interesting things to do in life than watching TV. Go in for a hobby and develop it. Go out and get involved in any physical activity that will keep you more active. By watching TV all the day we are actually building this habit in our kids too. However its difficult not too watch too much tv especially with all the soaps and reality shows that you get!

I agree with you on that. I have recently got rid of my TV. The kids were a little disappointed at first, as they have their shows that they love to watch on the weekends. But I told them they could still watch some of them on the Internet - within limits, of course. So they have come to accept it and actually they don't even bother do watch them now. They are reading more, playing with different games and doing lots of different activities. I never liked watching TV to begin with anyway; thus, it all works out well for the whole family.

Aw you got rid of your TV? Wow I can't live without TV even if there's the internet. Although it's bad for the health being a couch potato. o.o

| I just moved back to Washington, from Reno and now that I have more access to TV, I can't seem to stay away from it. I really wish we didn't have a tv at all because then I wouldn't be tempted, and I would get more done each day. Working from home makes it harder to not give in to those temptations and when I do, I don't get any work done. That's the down-side to making your own schedule

I have no time to waste in front of TV, and currently we don't even have one (don't miss having it, either). We watch rented DVD's on the computer, get the news online or on the radio. In the future, we plan to get a TV since there are some channels we find of interest. I won't be wasting time watching silly stuff though.

I don't know if I want to not have a TV, but I have thought several times about getting rid of mine. As long as I have the internet, I can watch shows. I don't feel like I watch too much TV now because I'm reading a lot more, and I have plenty of things to do each day. That keeps me busy enough.
