Default Hot or Cold Holiday Destinations

Everyone has their own preference to what type of holiday they want or like, the majority of people loving the sun prefer going to hot destinations but there are people who prefer colder destinations. To some this may sound odd people always look for hot countries to visit and enjoy going out in pleasant and hot weather, but for this there may be many reasons. Some of the reasons may be because where they currently live its always hot, some can not stand the sun and so on.

I myself prefer both, but generally prefer holiday destinations which have pleasant to hot weather. When it comes to going to cold weather destinations then it depends on the place and what activity is going to be taken out there, for example when going skiing the destination would be cold.

What kind of holiday destinations do you prefer hot or cold, and why?

Well i like both kinds of weathers hot and cold and like you mentioned Harpreet it depends on the activities one has planned for a holiday and also what the current weather is like in the country you like. Being in England the weather is generally cold so on the whole i prefer hot destinations but the cold holiday destinations are good too.

No cold destinations for me! That wouldn't be a holiday Actually, I prefer a warm, beachy setting, but not too hot. (I just don't handle the heat like I used to.) Someplace like LaJolla or San Diego CA is just perfect for my taste.

A hot holiday would be more enjoyable than the cold one. There would be lots of activities and it would be nice to enjoy the beach and the sun. I haven't experience white Christmas yet. How long would it take before the snow melts?

Definitely hot. Somewhere on an Island would be the best. I do however still want to feel what a white Chirstmas feels like. I have visions of sleighs and bells and lights in the snow.

I don't like heat at all; thus, I prefer cold destinations over the tropical ones. I feel much more alive in the cold weather and exploring places is much easier for me when it's raining or snowing for me as well.

Well, since I live in florida, almost all my holidays are hot! And I like it that way! But, I keep telling my husband I would like for us to take a week long trip sometime in like January or February and go visit someplace with snow. I've never made a snowman.

I am the same. I can't STAND the heat, however, if I have air conditioning, then I'm fine. A pool close by would be nice too!!

I love summer, to me it is the best time for traveling, seeing places, and enjoying life. I don't want to leave my house in winter, LOL!

This year, we might try to prolong our summer a little by going to Branson sometime in October. It can be getting cold in late October here where we live, but Branson is still nice and sunny.

Aside from snowman, what else is nice about white Christmas? I am in a tropical area so I would really like to experience cold holiday. But if I would think of it, I would still prefer tropical holidays. Definitely, it would be fun to spend the day under the sun.

If you don't enjoy cold holidays and knee deep snow, stay away from Canada, lol. I love cold weather and rain but even I can't stand the never-ending snow storms that we get here in the middle of winter

I would definitely pick somewhere hot with a nice beach. Living in Western NY we have way too long summers. When it is time to get away, we usually go in April when it is still snowy here. We head for the beach.

Hi Goodgirl
I am in the East, Montreal to be more precise. Just moved back from Vancouver, BC not too long ago. Boy, do I ever miss being there...Cold weather is sneaking in here too and I am already thinking of the snow, lol! You know how the air smells when the snow is about to come - that's how it felt like early this morning...Are you ready for it?

Hmm.. I think I'm ready for it... not a fan of the cold... I have to get some Uggs this year... I heard they're super warm and I need new boots... last year a bought a huge down filled coat with a big hood... so I guess I'm all set. I do love sweater season and getting the wood stove going... and the smell of the winter air. I'm just hoping we don't get too much snow... last winter was brutally cold... I think they said it was the coldest in 19 years or something.

I need some new boots this year as well, but I hate shopping for them. I was hoping we would have a mild winter this year but I was talking a neighbor yesterday and he said that if last winter was any indication, we'd be having another big one this time around too.

I live in Bangalore (India) where the weather is always really pleasant, so Im not too fussed about what the weather is like when going on holiday, hot or cold the two destinations are different and give their own experiences.
