Default Vacationing this summer?

Usually in the summertime we stick close to home. We go camping on the lake, go to the amusement parks and go on picnics.

This is the first summer in a while that we are actually taking a family vacation. We are heading to Ocean City Maryland to spend the week on the beach. Can't wait!

Do you have any summer vacation plans?

If we go on vacation this year, it will probably be in fall, not summer, sometime around September. I have been thinking about going to Branson, Missouri. I suppose it will depend on whether I'll save up enough money to go.

I love Ocean City Maryland! It's great. You have to get some of the fries there... They are the best around! Also the boardwalk is so much fun. I went to Ocean City about 3 years ago- it was a riot.

This summer we are going to Jekyll Island, Georgia. We are heading there for 10 days! I can't wait. We are going to a house that has an in ground pool and hot tub. It's right on the beach!

We are going with another family with 4 other kids.

Lissy, say hi to the Osmonds for me.. Branson is great fun. This summer will be pretty low key for me. We'll likely go to DC and stay with some family and take a few day trips into town to go to some museums. Also, we'll go camping a few times. Nothing too exciting.

I certainly will if we do manage to go! There are so many things I want to see... We have a couple of friends who keep going to Branson, several times a year. They say you can't run out of things to do there.

Would those happen to be Thrashers Fries? We love the fries on the boardwalk. I think we eat more on the boardwalk at Ocean City than any other vacationing spot we go to.

Have fun on your vacation. How old are the other kids going? I wouldnt' dare share a house with my 4 kids and another family!

Well this summer, we haven't decided any place as of yet, as we don't have any particular time for vacation because its always generally pleasant in India and summer on the other hand is too hot. If we did plan to go somewhere this summer it would be in India itself and a cold place in the hills maybe, either considering Shimla or Naintal, which are two beautiful places.
Other wise in October time we have decided to go to Port Blair, which is a city and also the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar island group.

Default Technically No Summer Vacation

I am actually using my "summer vacation" to plan our fall vacation to Tuscany. I look at it as having a vicarious summer vacation and an actual fall trip We're renting a house near San Gimignano in October. I'd love to hear from anyone who has been recently.

This is my last week of working before we head to the beach.

I am a little sad. I planned this as a family vacation. My son and his wife are now expecting a baby, so they can't come~ she is due soon.
My 17 yr old son has volunteered to work a wrestling camp that week, so he isn't coming.
My 15 yr old son just won a spot in the national track meet, so he can't come.

It looks like just me, my husband, my daughter and her friend will be going on this vacation.

Our family usually spent our summer vacation at the beach. We brought our foods there and have a party. Kids played with the sands and seawater. How about you guys, what do you usually do during summer vacation?

We love the beach too. It is entertaining for the kids and not expensive at all. The kids were in the ocean with their boogie boards riding the waves. We also played tennis and mini golf.

I'm with you on that, antkmom. Even though, it's not so expensive, still it guarantee that our family member would also enjoy the vacation. Do you play volleyball on the beach?

Honesty, I have never really went on a vacation, well, except when I was really little. I remember going to Disney Land with my mom and her ex husband
