I really want to backpack to other countries, but before I go, I'd like to hear other people's experiences about this. Has anyone ever gone backpacking before? If so, where did they go?

I went backpacking just before joining uni, with some friends, and I have to say its a good experience, especially if you like adventure. I went in backpacking in Ayers Rock, Uluru, in the Northern Territory of Australia. The trip was amazing and I saw some beautiful views of the place. Its not necessary that you have to go to another country, as some people think you have to go to another country to backpack for it to be good, it is better, but if the country you live in is big enough like Australia then easy to go somewhere within the country. |

Earlier this year we tried backpacking for the first time. We visited Zambia and Botswana. Backpackers hostels are becoming very popular with young and old. At the Victoria Falls in Zambia we stayed at Jollyboys. I can really recommend them. They are excellently priced and has an incredible atmosphere.

| I don't remember where it was, but I know it was somewhere in Washington. When I was younger, there was a huge hill and we backpacked up it. It was really fun. It doesn't have to be expensive and somewhere far. I think it's fun just to do it.. anywhere. A change of scenery makes a huge difference. Makes life more interesting!!

Even though I have never backpacked before, I do know where I would like to go. South America and Europe and maybe Africa. Europe is a good place for walking, and many of the countries are pretty close to each other unlike in North America.
