I run a daycare. I have one boy who comes her everyday with a toy from home. My rule is that if you bring a toy, you have to share it with the other kids. If you don't share, it goes by the door to go home. Everyday I go threw the same issue with this boy. He is 3. He will not share and when I take it away, he screams! I asked his mom to not send toys with him but she said he crys at home unless she lets him bring a toy. Any suggestions? |

I think the mom just wants to shut her baby up by giving in to his crying. It is your daycare and especially if he refuses to share, he should not be allowed to bring his toys over. Ask the mom to take the toy back before she gets him out of the car. Frankly, she should discipline him at home and explain that he doesn't get to do whatever he wants just because he's about to throw a tantrum.

| I think it's your daycare, so it's your rules. She needs to not bring it. Also, have you tried to talk to the boy and maybe distract him? Get him excited about something else maybe?
