Default Toddler years

Toddler years are the year where major development of the child takes place. This is the time when your child will show you changes physically, intellectually, and emotionally. From learning to use the potty to making friends. You child is ready to grow up. Your child will now show interest in playing with the ball. He or she may first love throwing the ball then kicking it. Once your child is a confident walker, he or she will start dragging or pushing toys along. And all this will help him or her improve his or her coordination, since he or she will be walking forward and looking back at the same time. Kids at this age are trying to find a balance between risk and challenge. The Challenge here is to climb or jump from a standing position. Both of these skills require coordination and the ability to use both sides of his or her body to do something different. Most toddlers love story time. This is when they will start relating to pictures, shapes, sizes and colors. Toddlers may now begin to make the connections between their own feelings and behavior and other people. This is the foundation for interacting with others and building friendships. A toddler is constantly learning how to do new things. Here your love and support is very essential. Also if possible provide a little freedom to the child to so that he strives for independence.

If possible try to keep videos of the toddler years of your child so that when he/she grows up, these videos will make him remember that with how much love and care you have tought him to walk and do every thing in life.

We take a lot of pictures and videos. We have been doing it since he was little and he loves to look at the pictures of himself when he was younger. He laughes at it, we usually catch him making a funny face or doing something funny. He is a little junior comediene.

My son is almost 2, and I so enjoy all of the little changes that he is undergoing, and the things that he is learning. He is always making me smile with the cute stuff that he does.

I think the toddler years are also a time when a child learns so quick and picks up every little thing you say, even if its a conversation between you and your partner. So we make sure we don't say anything which she may catch and then end up saying it out loud...

On the whole its great to see the changes in the toddler and hear them say new things and do new things.
