Default Summer camps

My daughter is 8 and this is the first year she will be attending a summer camp. She leaves on a Sunday and comes home the following Friday. I am sure she will have a blast! I think that she is starting to get nervous about it though. Just last week she said she didn't want to go anymore~ oops, sorry, it is already paid for.

Have you sent your kids to summer camp before? Did they love it or not?

I hope she had a ball! I bet she did once she got there and put her fears to rest.

My daughter went to Quebec with the school. She was so excited and then the night before the same thing. Mom can't you go too? I'm like- no... I don't think I want to go. It was really hard talking her back into it. I kept telling her she would have such a good time she would forget about being gone.

She went and had a ball-- the first night she called a couple of times homesick.

Hope you daughter had a good time antkmom. Its quite normal for kids to get nervous when going away for a long period of time from their parents, especially when its the first time, but Im sure she must have enjoyed it and cant wait to go again.

She loved it! She said she didn't even miss home I really missed her!

She is already planning on attending again next year. We started saving already for it! It wasn't cheap, that's for sure.

I don't like summer camps because their aim is only for money ,and children are too tired for attending this type of classes. I don't want to disturb them during summer holidays.

I think that is a normal feeling for first timers. I haven't send my kids to a camping yet but for sure they would enjoy it. Just tell her that the trip would be fun. Is her friends coming too? I guess if she would have friends in the camp, her nervousness would be lessen.

I don't have kids, but I myself went to a summer camp and it was amazing. I think it was through my church at the time or something like that. We go to ride horses and make necklaces and stuff. It was one of the best experiences of my childhood. It was sooo fun to sleep in this huge room with all my friends and learn to make ice cream. I actually started to miss home a little bit lol
