My daughters school has started this new online program where you can check out the grades online each day.

Teachers update the homework and test scores each week and you can go in with their password and ID # and see what they are doing or not doing.

Last year we went on every 5 weeks and looked to see how she was doing.

Would you use a system like this? Or do you just trust that your kids are doing what they are supposed to be doing and wait for the report cards?

I would definitely make good use of an online service as such, if it were offered at my kids' school. This is not to say that I don't trust them, but my older daughter tends to keep everything to herself unless I ask her a lot of questions and being able to keep a track of the grades without having to grill the kids would be much easier.

During my stay in a university for 4 years, we could always check our grade online. Well, I could say, this is really helpful, guys. Can you imagine how high tech are we now? You were be able to view your grade anytime.

It is a great system. When my kids were in middle school, I would get on and check their grades. Now that they are in high school, I feel that they need to be responsible for their homework, without me checking on them. They are both involved in sports, so they have to keep their grades up in order to participate. If they slack off, they pay the consequences and sit the bench.

I was thinking the same Antk- that she is old enough to be responsible to keep her grades up. I want to be sure that she is doing her homework though. I haven't checked yet (it's the first full week of school). I'm sure we will look together at the grades on the computer.

My school use to have this (I didn't tell my mom about it though hahaha), but it was a really great motivator for me! I would look each week when I had free time and think about what I could do in order to get everything closer to As. I was always an A or B student, unless it came to math. Math just never made sense to me for some reason.

I think it's great that they have it for you too!
