Default Solar heater!

I heard about solar heaters on discovery & coincidentally in the morning paper. The paper explained how beneficial it was. Although the cost of setup was a bit higher than my budget; I managed buying one & got it installed at home in bid to save energy & money.
Now I save more due to reduced bill. I think this was the least I could do to reduce my carbon print & energy consumption. Have anyone tried using solar applications?

That's a REALLY cool idea. If more people did what you do, then things would be a lot better for all of us. Like my bf always says, you have to spend money to make money

I always hated that when I lived at my grandma's. The water is freezing at night. Makes my hands freeze, and it's just uncomfortable.

There is a tank attached to the heater which is enough for my family (4 people). Likewise you can purchase a bigger tank. Unfortunately solar heaters don’t work during cold although it works on a cloudy day but not at its optimum best. (Water will get heated provided sunlight reaches the heating tube). Newer sunlight capturing technology can help in increased efficiency for water heating but the technology is not available in India.

p.s. the piping are well concealed for you get water for 24hrs.

I don't have my solar water heater but I manage to get heat from my fireplace. I put a pipe over the fireplace going up to the chimney. With this, during winter season I don't use my electric heater, instead, I just lit my fireplace and have my own free hot water. Innovative means of reducing my carbon print and is not an expensive one.

Although its a nice idea; but doesn't burning wood increase your carbon foot print?
