In India, girls are considered are someone who will one day get married and go away and leave the family, and many girl childs being killed as soon as they are born. Some people get the sex determination test during the pregnancy and ensure that if it is a girl child it is aborted. In our Country where most of the population is in villages and uneducated such behavior and cases are common. But recently a pregnant lady doctor has lodged a complaint against her doctor husband and his parents for trying to kill her unborn twin girls. The husband got the sex determination test, which has been banned in our Country, illegally and when he came to know about the twin girls, he tried to persuade her to abort them. Is this where our education and technology taking us to?

and regarding sex determination and aborting girl child...it is real sad to realise that there are still people who consider girl child as a burden and the occassion of girls birth is mourned upon.. But i feel proud that in my family girls are not considered burden.. |

lead a submissive life ? submissive to whom ? Are you doing your masters now ? hope you are doing it in the best possible place you could get in .... some girls are restrained in their choice of institutes as their parents wont let them study away from home ... although this seems to apply only to girls guess this is not an issue for you |

and hence definitely not the best possible place i could get in...Its true that being a girl is different...it shows off at times and you are helpless.. my family doesnt like me sending out to study so in one way a bit restrained from my choices.. i am afraid its been an issue for me...
