Default Girl Child in India

In India, girls are considered are someone who will one day get married and go away and leave the family, and many girl childs being killed as soon as they are born. Some people get the sex determination test during the pregnancy and ensure that if it is a girl child it is aborted. In our Country where most of the population is in villages and uneducated such behavior and cases are common. But recently a pregnant lady doctor has lodged a complaint against her doctor husband and his parents for trying to kill her unborn twin girls. The husband got the sex determination test, which has been banned in our Country, illegally and when he came to know about the twin girls, he tried to persuade her to abort them. Is this where our education and technology taking us to?

In my place in my community girls are not sent to husbands house.. husbands are supposed to stay at wifes place.. Cool naa...!!!
and regarding sex determination and aborting girl child...it is real sad to realise that there are still people who consider girl child as a burden and the occassion of girls birth is mourned upon.. But i feel proud that in my family girls are not considered burden..

gosh..think... its really different things.. staying at our own house we are entitled to all our freedom..no need to bother much about anything.. u can stay connected with your dear ones... but just imagine staying at husbands place...you ought to take care of all othrs matters and got to lead a submissive life.. i really wonder how they adjust in laws house when they leave thier homes forever...

And regarding freedom and encouragement i always had enough of it..i have been given best education.. got a good educational life but i dont know regarding professional life..am afraid i would be tied to marriage knots soon after my P.G... bUT I WONT BLAME THEM FOR THAT coz its really tough in our community to get grooms after a specific age limit...

what about the guys freedom and connection with loved ones ?

lead a submissive life ? submissive to whom ?

Are you doing your masters now ? hope you are doing it in the best possible place you could get in .... some girls are restrained in their choice of institutes as their parents wont let them study away from home ... although this seems to apply only to girls guess this is not an issue for you

Freedom does not come free ... you have to fight for it ... the term helpless is meaningless
