One of the wonderful ancient Indian ways of improving your skin complexion is, usage of "Ubtan". It is a mixture of sandalwood, turmeric, rose etc., it is been applied by brides in India, at the time of wedding. It gives glow to the skin and also helps in lightning the skin complexion. It is so important and effective that a separate ceremony is arranged to apply it, just as a ritual. |

Yeah it does make skin glow and look healthy. But I personally think the tittle " fair complexion" is racist. |

Ubtan is made from a mixture of: Wheat flour, mustard oil, turmeric, sandlewood or rosewater. Regarding the quantity, you can use one small bowl of flour, tea spoon of turmeric and half a teaspoon of rosewater (for fragrance) and oil in order to allow the mixture to be mixed well enough. You don't want the mixture to be too hard or liquidity, enough to be able to apply on the skin. |

Is this a technique that will work for those who don't have fair skin because I don't have fair skin at all. And I agree, Busy Bee, "fair complexion" does sound a little racist.
