Just do not wrap your skin in layers of clothes and just forget about it. You skin needs a lot of care in the winter. As the temperatures drops and low humidity joins it the skins starts to loose moisture and becomes dry. And if you are used to be in the artificial heat created inside then dryness and cracking are sure to be a part of your life. Make sure that you massage your body with a good body oil at least once a week. Olive oils are best recommended for this. You can keep the oil little warm. Never take bath with very hot water keep it luke warm so that it does not wash off the oils in the skin.

| So that's why they say to not use hot water. I never really understood why. That is very interesting. Thank you

Yes, I do see that my skin gets dryer in winter time, and I take measures. Good moisturizers and lotions work wonders. As long as you have found a product that suits your skin best, you don't even need to apply it that much, once or twice a day is enough.

Skin dries out very easily during the winter, the key is to just keep moisturised, particularly after taking a bath or a shower. It's a great excuse to buy yourself a new, beautifully fragranced skin lotion. |

Gosh, I didn't know that using hot water for bath in winter can do lots of damages to our skin. I didn't really pay attention to it when they told me about it since I really like hot baths. Thanks for sharing this one here girl. By the way, I forgot to ask. Do you know if its alright to take hot baths as long as you put lotion in your skin always? Dr. Snehal Sriram, Head, Medical Services, Kaya Skin Clinic has certain essential tips that will help keep your skin glowing even in the chill. For one, she says, winter skin care tips * eat a balanced diet, which includes vegetables, fruits, and fresh fish every day. * Try to avoid alcohol and coffee. Both dehydrate the skin and cause more drying and itching. * Use a humidifier inside the house to keep the skin moist. * Exercise helps produce sweat and increases blood flow to the skin, which improves the skin's hydration. * Colloidal oat meal baths, in addition to preventing water loss, also soothe the skin. * While taking a shower in winter, alternate moderately hot water with cold water for a few seconds. This provides an internal massaging effect with improved circulation and better hydration of the skin. * Don't worry too much about the havoc played on the skin by the changing weather. Just lead your life normally and welcome the arrival of winter. Source: only-ladies blog Also i have been to kaya personally... i think it is amazing skin clinic |

In the wintertime, my face is the most vulnerable to the cold and the wind. I wear moisturizer, but that doesn't do much to help my face. I also use a special wash for acne, and it always makes my face drier in the winter.
