Dehydration of the skin is not something that we haven’t heard of or faced. But is there anything that we do about it. Our house old conditions and lack of personal awareness just a few reasons for it. We agree that low humidity and exposure to caustic domestic substances can also lead to dehydration of skin but it is our need and responsibility to cure it. An increased intake of water will help us to moisturize our skin. Water assist us in take full care of our body from cleaning our skin to our system. I wish I could stop drinking coffee as I know it is not helping my complexion, but I enjoy it way too much and I think I'd go through a serious withdrawal if I stopped drinking coffee. I follow the other suggestions and hope that they will compensate for I can't. Thanks for the useful information!

| Does the same go for your lips? Because I know for a fact that I don't drink enough water, and I drink a LOT of caffeine. Could this be why my lips are always chapped? |

There are lots of reasons for skin dehydration. Taking tea/coffee/alcohol is also one of them. it's necessary to understand the function of the skin in order to treat it properly. Skin dehydration can occur for several reasons : Poor cleansing, Skin damage (sun exposure), failure to drink sufficient amounts of fluid, not using protective creams regularly. Any kind of medication and illness etc.
