Default Causes of Dry skin

Because you skin does not have enough sebum so your skin is dry. If you have extremely dry skin then proper treatment and care has to be taken. You can use dry skin lotions to moisturize your skin. There are huge reasons available for the dryness of your skin. Dry skin is most common in winters. Dry skin is also due to usage of hot water or harsh soaps. If you do not eat a healthy diet then it can result in the dryness of your skin. Smoking can also cause dry skin. Dry skin becomes more common as you grow old and many problems like thyroid and diabetes can also cause dryness of the skin.

Some moisturizing lotions may even tend to cause the skin to dry more. If the dry skin is problematic, then it is advisable to consult a dermatologist to get the best possible treatment instead of purchasing a whole array of off the shelf products.

My hands get noticeably dryer in winter time, which I guess is pretty common. I have a couple of lotions that I use, they work on contact, instantly softening and moisturizing the skin, and after just a few days of usage I can see that my hands are doing much better.

Generally, I have dry skin; however, my face is oily. When cleaning the house, I wear gloves so that the harsh chemicals do not damage my hands. I like the long cleaning gloves so that I can be sure that my hands are protected. I always use lotion or hand creme after washing my hands. It is best to apply lotion after water is used on the skin.
