Hi, I have read somewhere that baking powder can be used as a scrub. I am not sure whether it is baking powder or baking soda? An can it be used for dry skin? |

I thought maybe this link would help you. HowStuffWorks "8 Home Remedies for Dry Skin" Baking soda is a great way to relieve dry skin. I have also used the oatmeal method on my children. They come out of the tub feeling so soft. |

Baking soda... is simply sodium bi carbonate. baking powder contains some acidic and drying components .. so it is better to use baking soda on the skin |

Does the baking powder create any harm to the skin surface? as far as i know baking soda destorys vitamin b2. So those who have the deficiency of vitamin b2, should not use baking soda.. what about its effect on external skin then?

The dermatologist once prescribed baking powder or baking soda when I had an eruption of hives. It helped soothe the itching.

I am not sure that it is the baking powder. I think it is the cornstarch that is being used in dry skin.
