Default Moisturizer for dry skin

I have very dry skin, and have always had a problem finding a suitable moisturizer which can help with dry skin. I don't want something which last for 2 hours, but instead something which would last for at least 8 hours, so I don't have to worry about having any dry patches on my skin, when not at home.
Although i can always test and try, but I don't want to throw something away and waste it if its not good, so thought of asking you ladies on the forum.

I don't mind if its something expensive, as long as it does the trick.

I just bought some Body Butter from The Body Shop. They also have an online site to make purchases from. I love it. I put it on after my shower and my legs don't get scaley like they use to.

I think Aloe-vera moisturizer suits your skin well, and it gives glow to your skin too.

Nice I think I need one of those products. My leg seems to have some dry parts and it really makes me feel so uncomfortable.

I heard that using body butters darkens your skin, so better check for that before use.

I have been using coconut body butter for a while now and I haven't noticed any changes in the skin color. I also looked on the Internet after I read your comment but couldn't find anything to that effect either. Hopefully, it doesn't darken the skin as I really love using it.

My daughter was diagnosed with Eczema and the doctor told her moisturize. He gave us samples of Eucerin and a Dove moisturizer. Both worked great. I would start there. The only thing you can do is try by trial and error. What works for 1 person might not work for you. Everyone has different skin.

Here is a recipe for a cool moisturizer for the monsoon for oily skin. During the monsoons, skin gets really oily. You can prepare this moisturiser by mixing equal drops of rose water, strawberry oil and fresh orange juice. After mixing them well, apply on face for nearly ten minutes and then wash it off. ?However i love the moisturizer from Kaya Skin clinic. It simply works awesome!

I also have very dry skin so I usually use liquid soap as they don't dry my skin the same way regular soap does. If I run our of liquid soap I use Dove or Tone soap. Also, I make it a habit to apply lotion or body butter after every bath.

Aloe-vera is good for dry skin. IT won't have any side effects too. It helps to prevent your skin from skin rashes.
