Default Meet Someone in Church

People have always talked about how they met their spouse in church. That sounds fine since you can be sure that they share the same values that you do, but that's about it. It seems a little corny to me. What do you think?

I don't go to church so this would never happen for me, but I'm sure it's a great place to meet someone. As long as you're not meeting guys in a bar/club, I think you're fine

I have been going to church since I was 18, and I have seen many couples meet there. It is not like they are checking each other during the service, LOL! We had all kinds of activities, like classes, outings, etc. where people could get to know each other. It is good since you share the same values, as you say, and also you can see how serious the other person is about them.

Well sunday mass sure lasts only for an hour so I think that's hard work for them to find someone there lol. Although these kinds of people I don't think they're really after the mass.

For some reason, wanting to find someone in church would make me feel all icky. I'm not trying to say that I'm a bad girl, but I think it would make me feel like I should be acting more "Christian" even if I'm not sinning. I would hate to feel like I'm under some kind of imagined scrutiny.

Well, I can't say it's corny, because I actually met my hubby at church. But I guess I could see why some people might think it's corny.

I would probably reject him just because of the fact that he was from my church. I would rather not know and find out a little later. Still, I would hate for him to say, "Can I drive you to church?" What if that was supposed to count as a date? That does sound silly, doesn't it?

Yeah, none of our dates were ever going to church together. We were teens, so I always went with my family and he went with his. Our "dates" were when we actually went out to places or shopped together or something.

If someone asked me, "Can I drive you to church?", I would not think that it was a date. They are just offering a ride. But, if someone said that there is a singles mixer at the church would you like to go as my date, then I would consider it a date.
