I have a question for those who love animals: would you date and marry a guy who does not care for them and does not want pets? Or how about this: you date a guy, he seems all right, but then you find out during some conversation that his attitude is, "paying those vet bills is ridiculous, I'd never do that"? Would you break up or try to change his thinking?

In his defense, having pets can become a very expensive expense anually. Even with one pet, it can cost about nine thousand dollars in a year. I would be understanding, and see if we could come to a compromise. See if you can get a less expensive pet like a fish. You don't want to give up a person just because they don't share every one of your hobbies.

Oh, what a cutie!! What is her name? See, that's the thing: to me, it is not just a hobby, it is a living soul who is a part of my family. So if the pet gets sick, I will take it to the vet and treat it, even though it might be hard financially. I think it is important to have understanding in this matter. |

| I agree with you Lissy. Our pets aren't our pets, they're out babies. Her name is Zoey. I got her when she was about 6 months old. She's the cutest little thing!! Here's the first pic I ever took of her: ![]() She's grown a lot since then

It certainly would've been a tough choice for me but to be honest, before deciding to leave someone for my pet, I would try to find a middle ground with him. There is also the fact that people live much longer than pets, and leaving someone for the pet...I've thought about this for a long while and I don't have a definite answer.
