Default Texting to break up

I find it so lame when people text or email when they want to break up. I think the best way, and only way to do it should be by talking. I mean, if needed, you could do it on the phone. In person is the most polite and respectful way of doing it. My first "boyfriend" broke up with me through email lol. All he said was "it's over". I think it was really funny.

Talk about it that's the gayest way of breaking up. I mean why on earth can't you confront the person then tell it face to face that you're breaking up. It really hurts a lot when someone just left a note to you telling that he/she is breaking up with you. >.< That's very irrespectful to me.

I've always thought that was funny, but I also realize that breaking up this way can be very hurtful to the other person. Still, this is just the result of a generation who spends more time texting each other than talking face to face. It's inevitable.

That's a very good point, Hirami. People do text more than talk. I just find it easier and it's more convenient, because then you can have a conversation even during times that you are busy.

It's a coward's way out of the relationship. They have no guts to look the person in the eye and tell them it's over, so they resort to an email / text, caring little about how much it can hurt. I agree, it's just lame.

Sad thing is, with my 2nd bf, I moved out while he was at work. I text him while he was working to let him know I wasn't coming back. That was so dumb of me. I felt really, really mean. Somehow, she's forgiven me and we are working on getting back together. My ex and I are now living with him, as strange as that sounds, and I'm going to be single for a few months. We're all going to buy a house together

Texting to break up is the worst thing to be done.. A person is really gonna suffer heart ache while under going break ups.. Just imagine the situation you get a text saying ITS THE END... Personally i would be more hurt in that way. Atleast one should have the courtesy to say it in person and move on.
