Default Breast feeding a barrier to weight loss?

I have nursed my second child these last eight-and-a-half months. I thought breast-feeding was supposed to help the mom lose weight but I haven't lost an ounce. If I begin to diet, it impacts my milk negatively. Has anyone else had this same experience? I suppose each woman is different....

don't go on a diet, but choose healthier foods. eat more veggies, chicken, whole grains. eating healthier foods is better for the baby anyway because they get all the nutrients. also make sure you're getting some exercise in.

your body only burns about 600 calories a day making milk. Which is quite a bit, but not if you're not eating healthy ane exercising

I have not heard of any connection between breast-feeding and weight loss... Of course, I am not an expert, so it might be that I never came across such information. Have you asked your doctor about it?

it is believed that breastfeeding actually supports or encourages the body to lose weight since we burn calories when we breastfeed. it may be possible that the reason why you aren't losing any weight is that you are eating more calories than what you are actually burning in a day. try to eat more vegetables, meat and the likes and lessen sweets and foods rich in carbohydrates. just lessen, not entirely take it off your diet.

I must say that breastfeeding is a must to newly born babies. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables can be helpful too. You can't take the risk of going on some unhealthy diets since you are breastfeeding.

Breast feeding really did help me go back to my pre-pregnant size. When I breast fed I could actually feel the pain as my organs contracted back, which is the reason why I couldn't do it for very long.
