After the baby has been delivered, how long does it take for the stomach to return to its original size? Is it a gradual process, like air being let out of a balloon?

Well, I will find out soon enough, after my daughter is born in February. From what I have read, yes, it happens gradually. You only lose just a little when you deliver your baby, the rest will come off later, and exercise helps a lot. Another thing that helps is breastfeeding the baby.

I don't remember exactly how long it took for me but it must have been a couple of months at least.

Wow that was fast, my mom never recovered a slim body because she still have some excess fats there. She may look slim because of her dress but still she has fats overlapping her pant's wasteline.

I don't know why, but I just assumed that it happened almost instantly. That sounds a little disappointing. I knew that the whole ordeal pregnancy isn't something too glamorous, but still.

A few months seems like such a long time. I'm sure it's really annoying to have all that extra weight even though you're no longer pregnant. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to have a kid.. I don't wanna sound mean, but I don't wanna change my body that drastically

Well, it's been almost three weeks since I gave birth, and my tommy is still there. It has reduced some, but it is not back to normal yet. I have bought a post-pregnancy support belt, they are said to help. We'll see how it works.
