Default After Pregnancy

Here is some information for the new mothers of what to expect and do after pregnancy.

When it comes to taking care of yourself, you should visit a health care specialist at least 2 - 6 weeks after the baby is born, for post partum checkups. You are as important as the baby, so make the appointments in advance.

After the delivery of your baby your body will undergo many changes, which include both physical and mental. Some of the changes include:
-vaginal discharge
-mood swings
-post partum blues
-bowel movements
-after pains
-repair of stitches
-sexual intercourse

If you have any of the following problems you need to contact a haealthcare specialist immediatly:

-high fever (more than 100° F)
-heavy, bright red bleeding or large clots
-painful cramps
-hard and painful lumps in your breasts
-increasing pain in the stitches
-pain when you urinate

Remember anything you think that is not normal or you suspect something not being right, consult your healthcare specialist or doctor.

I think that new mums are so focused on caring for their new baby that they can often forget about looking after themselves.

This is great advice you offer and should be know to all new and soon to mothers out there.

I'm sure this info will be very helpful to many women. Thanks for sharing. Bubble is right, it's hard to remember to take care of yourself when you have a new baby in your life

I was told to come see my doctor 4 weeks after giving birth. I think it is a good timeframe - you are pretty much healed up, and if something is not yet back to normal it is easy to pinpoint and inform the doctor about. I think 2 weeks would be a bit too soon.
