post partum depression is serious. Almost all women will experience the "baby blues" for a few days or a week or so, but if it is major or persistant, seek help. and Yes, i have experienced it.

I have talked to several ladies who have experienced it, and it is far more than just feeling a little sad and a little tired. Women who suffer from post partum A) Shouldn't be blamed or criticized; B) Need professional help.

it can be very serious. Almost all women will experience a little bit of sadness but nothing major. If it is more than that, you should talk to your doctor. I never realized I was depressed but I just didn't feel right and ended up downing a bottle of pills and landing myself in a treatment facility. I wasn't trying to kill myself, I just wanted to feel better. I didn't realize how bad I felt until it was really bad.

post partum depression should be dealt with seriously. this shouldn't be taken lightly as some would probably think it's nothing to worry about. yes, there are some that are just baby blues, but some are quite serious and may lead to trauma for both mother and the baby. if anyone experiences this or if we know anyone who's experiencing it, we should ask them to seek for professional help. i believe brooke shields wrote a book on this? i am not so sure but i think she did. i'll try to look it up and post about it. |
