At what age would you let your child go on vacation with a friend and their family?
My daughter is 9. We are planning a trip to the beach this summer. She has two older brothers who will go off and do their own thing at the beach. We are thinking about letting he invite a friend to come with us. What do you think? Is 9 too young to bring a friend on vacaiton? We will be gone for a week.

No, I don't think nine is too young at all. Your daughter will obviously need a someone to keep her company, and I think inviting her friend along would be an excellent idea.

I think it's a great idea. Kids need other kids with them. It will be fun for her and for you too. You won't have to keep her busy the whole time she will have a friend with her.

I thought about letting my daughter take a friend last year but it was too last minute to plan.

Now plans have changed and my 17 yr old isn't going with us. The 15 yr old asked if he could bring a friend.

Not crazy at all, I think it's a great idea! That way the kids will have someone their own age to play with. Think about how cool it will be for the other kids too- to be able to go on vacation with another family.

I think that would be fine. I am sure your daughter will enjoy the trip. And besides, your responsible enough to take care of her, right? Just make sure you look after them.

She ended up bringing a friend and it worked out very nicely.
The girls kept each other occupied, so my husband and I were able to relax the whole time. I would definitely do it again.
