Default Graduation Presents

When I am invited to a graduation party, I always give money. I figure that the newly graduate probably needs money for college ect.

With my own children, I do something different. I let them choose the location for our family vacation the year they are graduating. They are also allowed to invite one friend to come on vacation with us. This year we are heading to Daytona Beach as my second son is graduating!

What do you do for graduation?

My mom gave me a party with food and presents. I got a lot of books about being an adult, and my relatives gave me money which is what I really wanted. I used that to pay for things that I needed for college, and I got a little special present for myself.

Sorry that you are sad abeja

My son received some gas cards too. I guess that gift cards are good if you want to make sure the money isn't spent to party!

No worries! I don't celebrate things too much anyway. Now my bf is always making me feel special by celebrating random things. Everyday is a good day for us.. Makes up for the past for sure!

I can't remember what I received when I graduated in High School, but when I graduate from my two year course in college, my mom gave me a cellphone as a gift.

Wow! A car is a great graduation present! I must be a mean mom because I made my kids buy their own car and pay for their insurance

My parents gave me a shopping Voucher as gift for graduation; besides I’m sure that they got it for free on previous shopping.
Talk about being mean! :P
Anyway I appreciate them for paying for my college so that Voucher really didn’t mean anything to me.

No, I think you're just teaching them how to be responsible and how they need to make money to get what they want. Makes sense to me. I'm still jealous of those who were bought cars at 16 though
