How was your relationship with your parents?
My relationship with my mom was always really bad. She was very rude to me, would get mad at me for everything, wouldn't buy me clothes or anything I needed. I always wanted to live with my dad, but she wouldn't let me. She was always making me scared of the world.

My dad and I got along great, until I moved in with him and my grandma when I turned 18. I realized that he's an alcoholic and doesn't do anything with life. I'm sorry to say, he'll never change.

If I ever have kids, I want to do a better job than they did!!

Sounds like you had a tough childhood. Just from your experience, I bet you will make a change and be a great mom.

My father was killed in a plane crash when I was 14, so my mom pretty much raised me threw the tough teen years. We were ( and still are) very close. Mom worked alot, so my sister and I were left alone alot. Mom and dad must have instilled proper values in us, because we were both good kids. I think my mom felt guilty that we were alone alot, so she did buy us alot of stuff.

Wow! I'm very sorry to hear about that. Well, it seems like they did a great job because you seem really cool.

I really do appreciate the fact that I've been through a lot, because it keeps me motivated and I really want to make a difference in the world

When I was younger, I had a horrible relationship with my parents, we butted heads constantly. I ended up leaving home very early and we didn't talk to eachother for a few years. But they have come around when I gave birth to my first child and we have gotten really close ever since.

I bet that's a great feeling for you! Good for you for turning things around with them. I hope my mom and I can one day do the same!!
