Default Summer Breaks

What do you normally do with your children during summer break? My mom used to always have me babysit and we wouldn't really do anything different. I always wished we could have went somewhere fun or done something since I had all that time off school. My little sister usually goes to Wild Waves, I LOVE going there!! Has anyone else been? It's like 6 Flags

We usually do different activities such as going swimming, camping or travelling, but it is only during the weekends as my girls go to day camps throughout the summer. I love spending time with my kids but finding something to do with them on a daily basis would have been much too hard nonetheless.

I always thought making plans each day to keep the kids busy would be tough. I feel the same about making dinner.. I don't cook so maybe that's why it seems so tough. I would run out of things to make haha.

As kids, my brother and I spent our time at the library in the summer for the summer reading clubs. Now that I'm an adult, that has not changed at all. I still hang out at the library. That's the bulk of what we did. Occasionally, we went somewhere else that had some fun activity if it wasn't too hot or too far away.

I babysit in the summer, so my daughter is my helper. I also pay her to help me. We always take at least one week off and go camping for the week up to the lake. We also go camping many weekends. We always hit a 6 Flags for a day too. I try to make summer fun for my daughter since she is such a good helper for me when I have to work.

Last year she went to a summer camp for a week also. She loved it! She is looking for a friend to go with her again this year!

That's really awesome that you pay her! I bet she really enjoys that.

When I was growing up, I spent summer breaks at my grandma's. I loved it. I actually lived from one summer break to another, crossing off remaining school days on my calendar. We'd usually take a trip with mom and dad during summer, they always tried to have vacation together.

I didn't do anything that fun, but being at the library always had its own set of joys for me. We didn't visit any relatives, and I was glad that we didn't. I remember once that my brother and I spent our time at a recreation center. I hated it so much.
