If you are expecting a second child then make sure that you prepare the first child for the second child’s arrival. This will sway away the chances of sibling rivalry. Very often parents are not sure as to when to tell their child that another baby is on the way. It is not advisable to not let the first child know about the coming of the second child. The children catch everything so even if you do not tell them they will find it out by putting an ear to all the whispering and adult discussions about the child. So prepare the child tell him or her in advance that you are getting another child only to give company to him or her.
