My step brother's wife recently had a baby with heart problems and down's syndrome, and I'm not all that familiar with Down's syndrome. Does anyone have any advice on how I should treat them, is there anything special I need to know about being around my new niece, she's sweet and beautiful, but I don't want to do anything wrong. And I don't want to ask her mom because she looks so tired and worn out right now, but happy. I'm so proud of them both. Thanks in advance for any advice ![]() Juxt

The articles I've read about this topic all indicate that we do not have to have a special attitude around these children. Just be natural and show her that you love her - if you want to buy her gifts, make sure that they are mostly educational and be with her as you would be with any other child. There are quite a few articles on the Internet that can tell you a little more and give you additional information on Down Syndrome as well.
