My friend gave me this recipe awhile ago. I tried it once and fell in love with it. You need: 8 jalapeno peppers--sliced in half--length ways (you can either take the seeds out for not so much spice or leave them in for a spicy flavor) 1/2 package of cream cheese 2 tsp of garlic powder 1 to 2 tsp of cajun spice (again the more you add the spicier the mixture will be) 8 slices of bacon cut in half toothpicks Mix cream cheese and spices. Take half jalapeno slice and fill will cream cheese mixture. Wrap the bacon around it so that you can not see the cream cheese and secure with a toothpick. Repeat until all jalapenos are stuffed. Place them on a piece of tinfoil on the top rack of the grill. Cook until the bacon is crispy and the cream cheese filling starts to just barely melt out. YUM! I have never cooked them in the oven but I am sure it can be done--I would bake them in a 375-400 degree temp. Enjoy! |

OUCH! Hot... I wonder if it would work and taste as good with green peppers! I'm not a fan of hot food and I'm sure it would burn my mouth and I wouldn't be able to taste for months! I love peppers though and bacon too- so do you think it would work with green or sweet peppers? |

I don't know if peppers would taste good. I don't see why not. Just look for milder peppers. I am not sure what is milder than Jalapenos (other than green peppers)--If you take out the seeds in the Jalapenos it takes out most of the spice. Also the bigger the Jalapenos the less spicy they are--but you are talking to someone who loves habanero peppers--one of the hottest peppers there is. |

I am a little scared of Jalapenos as well, I can't take too much spicyness... I suppose it could work for me with the mildest kind, and of course all the seeds taken out! ![]() I have made stuffed Bell peppers, but that is something totally different. |

Hi, just a word about jalapeno peppers. Clean out all the seeds and membranes and it will take the heat away. There seems to be something with the cream cheese and the bacon and the baking of them that lessens the heat. And, always buy nice firm dark green jalapenos, do not buy any that are soft, or with brown streaks in them, these are older pepeprs and will be very picante (hot!!). I have been making this recipe for several years now as an appetizer and even people who shudder at the thought of anything spicy love these, so do not be afraid to give them a try...you might be surprized!
