Ideally all the nutrition the body needs must be through food but this is highly unlikely now adays. Diertary supplements are becoming more and more acceptable. Especially for women supplements like Calcuim, vitamins, folic acid(during pregnancies) is encouraged. Any other supplements you recommend ?

I don't know any other supplement but it is imparative today that these supplements are taken in required quantity because the diet now-a-days doesn't carry sufficient nutritions as required by our body.

We have been taking a great liquid supplement for about 2 years, and it is working great both for me and my husband. A two-ounce glass contains all the vitamins and minerals we need for a day. It tastes good, too.

The only supplement I take is salmon oil. Because I eat a diet rich in vegetables, lentils, and whole grains, I get all of my vitamins naturally.

Better than supplements natural diet is recommended for everybody, but now a days, as the world is getting polluted we are not getting good nutrients in natural food, and also people are habituated to supplements more than diet, because they have to cook naturals where as supplements no need to cook instead having them with a glass of water, they think that it is better than cooking without knowing that they are landing to some side-effects like Diarrhoea, constipation, headache, loss of appetite, etc,. I always suggest naturals rather than supplements in a normal people but for pregnant women it is must that they should be supplemented by Iron, iron-folic acid, calcium, for good growth & development of the foetus, sometimes, protein in supplemented in case of Albiminuria, & multi-vitamins to have strenghth. |

One very good thing for women to take is flax seed. It's high in fiber, antioxidants, and Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are a key force against inflammation in our bodies. Inflammation plays a part in many chronic diseases including heart disease, arthritis, asthma, diabetes, and even some cancers. Flax seed is great for lowering cholesterol and very good for the heart. It's also high in most of the B vitamins, magnesium, and manganese. Lots of good stuff about flax seed. Too much to get into here, but if you're really interested, you could do a bit of research and find what great benefits there are in adding this to your diet. Even helps in weight loss and in menopausal women because of the phtoestrogens it contains. |

There are so many choices out there for vitamins and taking the right ones is so confusing. I try to take vitamins everyday, but sometimes I forget. I'm 37 and wondering if there is a certain vitamin brand that is recommended.

I take One-A-Day for women and it has the complete array of supplements specifically designed for our needs. I think there is also Centrum Complete as well but since our needs are different than those of men, I trust more One-A-Day for women than the other ones available on the market.
