Question Sodium

Sodium is the taste-maker of the food we eat. The daily requirement is 10-15 gm, but we generally tend to consume more than the recommended levels. The requirements is much less for people suffering from high blood pressure and heart failure (3-6 gm/day).

Sodium is very important for the proper functioning of our body.. Every food we eat virtually contains sodium in it.. So sodium deficiency diseases are found to be very rare..

You're quite right in pointing out that consuming too much sodium could raise your Blood Pressure. Therefore if you're prone to high BP, you should cut down on your salt intake.
