Lightbulb What Do Minerals Do?

• Some minerals help in forming the body structure.
1. Calcuim, magnesium and phosphorus make up the bony framework of the body. Teeth also need the same minerals for structural strength.
2. Iron is a structural component of the red blood cells.
3. Iodine is a part of the throid hormone and prevents goiter.
• Minerals such as zinc, magnesium, copper, manganese, etc. regulate body functions and metabolism by acting as catalysts.
