Default Not enough nutrients in food

I have recently come across a chart that listed all the food we'd need to eat during the day if we wanted to get all the necessary nutrients from it. It is scary because it is plain impossible: you'd have to eat over 50 eggs, for example.

I think that's because many scientists have been saying that much of the soil that we grow our food in has been depleted of its nutrients. That's probably true because of overfarming and not letting the soil rest for a season. If you're worried about getting enough nutrients, just make sure that you eat something nurishing everyday, and you'll probably be fine.

It is the same thing with Canadian food guide - it is impossible to eat in one day everything they list in it. Regardless of what we read, I believe that if we eat healthy everyday, we are still getting enough nutrients out of our food without having to exaggerate.

Well I don't think its necessary to follow those lists anyway. Eating too much in a day isn't a healthy diet after all. Just eating a balanced one will be fine for me.

I don't think we can ever get it right. The key is just to get a good mixed, balanced diet.

Remember the days when they used to put that food pyramid on the back of the bread bag with all of the suggested food servings and everything? I never did follow those, and if you did, you'd get fat. It's always better to use your best judgment in this case. If you try to eat everything in sensible portions, then your body will get what it needs.

They still have that on the food packaging where I live and it tells us to eat more carbs than vegetables than protein.

Yeah, I have seen that food pyramid recently, but I have never abided by it. Everything in moderation seems like a good plan to me.

I don't try to get everything on the list, either. It is impossible, and it would be overeating, too. I balance my diet and take a good nutritional supplement that has everything I need.
