My boyfriend loves to have ginger in his wasabi when he eats sushi. I was thinking about a story the other day. When I was a little girl and I had a tummy ache, a good friend of the family use to give me Ginger to chew on. Not the same kind that you put in wasabi but it was a candy like Ginger. She use to buy it in the health food store. I remember it not tasting that well--but it always seemed to do the trick. Have you ever had ginger? For a tummy ache? |

I believe this is where the idea for Ginger Ale comes from. When I was little my grandma used to give me a little 7 UP or Ginger Ale to settle an upset stomach.

Ginger is the best for stomach related problems. When someday lunch is heavy with non-veg, my mum will prepare and give ginger tea which makes digestion easy.

| Ginger is a digestive, and fantastic for your tummy, it is good for travel sickness also, make a decoction of ginger and add a little honey, and it will help, but don't overdo it becuase it is also very heating!

If I am not mistaken, I read somewhere that ginger tea is also good for pregnant mothers. It stops the feeling of nausea and vomitting during the early months of pregnancy.

I read somewhere that consuming ginger on a regular basis helps prevent stomache cancer. As for ginger tea, how do you prepare it? What does it taste like? |

I think it is just regular black tea and you grate a tiny amount of ginger into it. at least that's what we call 'ginger tea' in our house. -F |

Well we use ginger to treat sore throats and colds. All you have to do is boil the ginger and would be a good ginger drink that soothes the your tonsillitis and colds. But for tummy ache I haven't tried it yet.
